Lead Process Safety Engineer

Kuala Lumpur – Multinational Consultancy, Project Management and Engineering Company is currently recruiting for a Lead Process Safety Engineer with extensive experience in Safety Design principle to join our Operations Services Asia Pac (Upstream business) team in Kuala Lumpur. This is to support our on-going project with expected duration of 18 months. Below are some key responsibilities and duties; Being accountable for the quality of Process Safety deliverables Participating in project Design Review, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops when required Providing sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline Co-ordinating with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project Ensure that design meets all Process Safety requirements and maintains risks to as low as reasonably practicable Actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development Self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments Expert knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Process Safety Design principle methodologies, software systems, and design practices as they relate to Conceptual, FEED, Detail Design, Construction, Commissioning, and plant Start-up Expert awareness of international codes and standards Experience in design deliverables associated with process design and loss prevention scopes Experience of coordinating HAZOP, HAZID, SIL Classification studies Experience of directing Management of Change (MOC) reviews Able to interrogate & review and perform formal safety assessment study i.e. Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), Physical Hazard Effects (PHE) Organizationelling, etc as required Provide planning, CTR and schedule data as required Direct and supervise a team of relevant discipli… – Permanent – Full-time
