Key Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and university policies.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits across campus to identify hazards and recommend solutions.
- Deliver training sessions to staff and students on occupational health, fire safety, emergency preparedness, and environmental protection.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate EHS records and generate compliance reports as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and facilitate site inspections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an EHS role, preferably within higher education or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of local and international environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, training, and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in EHS (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
