We are seeking an experienced HSE Training Lead to join our international team, with full relocation support for candidates from Mozambique, Angola, and beyond.
About the Project
Bechtel, in partnership with Westinghouse, is delivering Poland’s first AP1000 nuclear reactors. Our work will set new standards for safety, sustainability, and innovation. As our HSE Training Lead, you’ll drive the development and implementation of engaging training and awareness programs to elevate HSE culture across this high-profile project.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage comprehensive HSE training and awareness programs for a diverse workforce.
- Develop training materials and courses, including classroom sessions, online content, practical workshops, and awareness campaigns.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the high quality and relevance of training materials.
- Take a “train-the-trainer” approach, coaching other trainers and ensuring consistency across all training activities.
- Maintain detailed records and coordinate with HR to meet all employee training requirements.
- Deliver presentations and facilitate group training on HSE topics.
- Use innovative teaching methods—including visual aids, digital tools, and on-site training—to ensure lasting learning outcomes.
- Lead Bechtel’s Craft-Based Leadership (CBL) program and promote continuous improvement within the EHS Management System.
- Manage employee recognition initiatives for positive HSE behavior and use technology to keep safety awareness top of mind.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and update content based on best practices and incident feedback.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Education (with a science emphasis), or equivalent from an accredited university.
- 8–10 years’ proven experience in teaching, with strong expertise in developing and delivering EHS/HSE training programs.
- Familiarity with technical and administrative elements of HSE programs.
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Strong computer and presentation skills.
- Adaptable, able to work both in office settings and on project sites.
- Ready to work flexible shifts as required.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate in workplace learning and employee development.
Preferred:
- Experience working on international engineering/construction projects.
- Advanced knowledge in applied sciences and technical writing.
