Key Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the student support and welfare provision across all university residences.
- Develop and implement policies to ensure a healthy, safe, and welcoming living environment.
- Act as the main contact point for resident wellbeing, supporting students through welfare concerns and critical incidents.
- Work closely with teams including Residential Services, Health & Safety, and the wider university to promote best practices and compliance.
- Train, mentor, and support residence staff in delivering excellent customer service and student care.
- Monitor welfare-related incidents, maintain accurate records, and conduct regular risk assessments.
Requirements
- Experience in health, safety, environment, or welfare management within residential, hospitality, or higher education settings.
- Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of best practices in student welfare, safeguarding, and incident management.
- Ability to work proactively, handle sensitive situations, and maintain confidentiality.
- Relevant degree or professional HSE qualification is highly desirable.
